About Us
History
Group “Let’s…” is a non-governmental organization established in the spring of 1999.
It was launched by (at the time) young professionals in the field of applied psychology who wanted to use their expertise to respond to issues emerging in society.
The programs the organization has implemented so far fall within the domains of psychological support, personal development, empowerment, the development of artistic practice, and activism, mostly carried out through non-formal educational activities. The target groups the organization has worked with the most include: teachers, primary school children, young people, youth workers, local government representatives, and members of vulnerable groups (Roma, people with refugee experience, persons with disabilities, individuals facing mental health challenges, the LGBT population, war veterans from 1991–1999, and youth from rural areas).
Since 2011, the organization has been organizing the Off Frame Festival of Socially Engaged Theater, which has been dedicated to vulnerable groups. In addition, Group “Let’s…” has its own theater and film production. It has received several awards for its work — the Council of Europe and European Commission award for one episode of the animated series “Uaaa nepravda!” as part of the “Enough!” campaign, an award from the International Festival of Alternative and New Theater (INFANT) in Novi Sad for the inclusive play “Reset”, and an award from the Tagore International Film Festival in India for the short inclusive film “Pogled” (“Glance”).
Since 2005, the organization served as a Contact Point for EU youth programs. It held this role for 11 years, after which Tempus Foundation took over as the National Agency for these programs.
Group “Let’s…” has published several manuals for work in the context of non-formal education (“The Alphabet of Tolerance,” “No Exclusion,” “Body Frame,” “Peace, Cooperation, Nonviolence,” “Non-formal Education in Europe – A Step Toward Recognition of Non-formal Education in Serbia and Montenegro”), publications supporting youth activism (“GPS for Activism,” “Guide – On a First-Name Basis with Local Youth Offices”), and translated numerous resources for the development of non-formal educational practices (“COMPASS – A Manual for Human Rights Education with Young People,” “T-Kits – Training Essentials,” “T-Kits – Intercultural Learning”).
