Off Frame Festival

In 2011, Group “Let’s…” launched the Off Frame Festival of Socially Engaged Theatre. The mission of the festival was to bring together organizations and authors engaged in socially engaged theatrical practices in Serbia, the region, and beyond. The festival also aims to promote examples of practices that include members of marginalized communities—those who are, in a given social context, disenfranchised—both in theatre work and on stage.

Many organizations, companies, and individuals have performed their productions at the Off Frame festival, including: ApsArt (Center for Theatre Research), Artistic Group IGNIS, Dah Theatre, ERGstatus Dance Theatre, Center E8, Bitef Theatre, Sanja Krsmanović Tasić and “Hleb Theatre,” Jovana Rakić, Marta Lađanski, Aleksandar Georgiev, Bojana Mišić, Little Theatre “Duško Radović”, Scene Carina, and a group of authors (Nina Marković Matis, Ana Dubljević, Dalija Aćin Tajlander, Bojana Lazić, Milan Marković Matis), Markus Magdalena, Karen Peterson, Igor Koruga, Žak Valenta, Ensemble Miraž, Selma Banič, Ivana Rončević, PATOS Theatre, Walking Theory, Vaštag Vendel, MESS, Qendra Multimedia, Via Negativa, Hop.La!, Plavo Pozorište, Praktikabl, POD Theatre, and others.

All programs of the Off Frame festival were free of charge for the audience. The performance venues were wheelchair accessible. Serbian Sign Language interpretation was provided during performances, along with audio description for blind and visually impaired audience members.

The festival was last held in 2019, after operating for several years without any financial support.
