Together Behind the Mirror

Group “Let’s…”, in partnership with NAPOR, KOMS, the National Youth Office, OPENS, the Scout Association of Serbia, and with the financial support of the Ministry of Tourism and Youth of the Republic of Serbia, implemented the project “Together Behind the Mirror” in 2024, which included a training focused on the mental health of young people and youth workers.

In Sremski Karlovci, from September 24 to 26, 2024, a three-day training brought together youth workers, trainers, teachers, and others working with young people, with the aim of encouraging the use of competencies, knowledge, methods, and approaches from the field of mental health in youth work.
The training provided an opportunity for youth workers to exchange experiences regarding mental health challenges they encounter in their work with young people, and to receive additional support in the form of information, new methods and techniques, and the joint development of ideas on how to resolve emotionally challenging situations in the future.
Participants were empowered to recognize signs of deteriorating mental health among youth, to provide basic mental health support services, and to know when, how, and to which professional services to refer cases that exceed their expertise.

Following the training, participants used the acquired knowledge and skills to implement one workshop each with young people (on the topic of mental health) in their local communities. Trainers supported them throughout this process via supervisory meetings.
