“Little Red Riding Hood” in Bačka Palanka

The collaboration between two festivals – On Its Own Power (NSP) and the Festival of Ecological Theatre For Children and Youth (FEP) – enabled us to perform the play “How Little Red Riding Hood Survived the Wolf a Second Time” on August 24, 2025, in Bačka Palanka.

The play is based on a story developed as part of the Twisted Tales program, initiated by the Institute for Transmedia Design (Slovenia).

In this reimagined version, Little Red Riding Hood is a teenage girl confronting a repressed memory—an experience of sexual violence from early childhood. As she uncovers her long-suppressed trauma, her journey to her grandmother’s house becomes an inner path toward healing and personal transformation.

The performance combines audio storytelling, physical theatre, movement, dance, and direct interaction with the audience.

The realization of the performance was financially supported by the Heinrich Böll Foundation.
